About StorageLift

Concept to Patented Product

It's human nature to like stuff and lots of it! Most of time it's large, oversized, valuable stuff. Big toys and big equipment. Equipment such as riding lawn mowers, snowmobiles, four wheelers, motorcycles, bicycles, gas grills, snow blowers and garden tillers. The developing problem for nearly every household is that these items consume too much room in your garage or storage building.

Every Do-It-Yourselfer's first attempt to solve this storage dilemma is to build a heavy-duty shelf inside the garage. While a homemade shelf may temporarily work as a storage option, it may not meet any reasonable safety standards.

This was the birth of The StorageLift. A winch operated lift designed to safely store large, heavy seasonal items in the smallest space possible. While the first steel prototypes worked they were extremely heavy and impossible to move around when loaded. In fact, they were practically impossible to move around when they weren't loaded.

With help from engineers from Alexandria Extrusion, we were able to design an aluminum storage lift capable of holding 1000 pounds on each platform. This storage lift capacity would accommodate the largest snowmobiles, motorcycles and four wheel ATVs. A 360-degree, locking castor assembly was added as an option to allow easy movement even when the storage lift was fully loaded. The owner is now able to easily store twice as much seasonal equipment or recreational vehicles in the same amount of garage floor space. And, if the equipment or toys need to be moved to access other areas of the garage it can be done quickly and easily without having to cycle any of the equipment.
